Replanted

Do what you must to prepare yourself. This little film has all the feels, and clocks in at about 8 mins. And it is the very true story of Jo Durt’s mom.

And if you can’t get enough of Falcon Fostering, be sure to see the Reading Junior Goes To Sedge to witness the happy ending to another tricky fostering situation this season.

  1. I had tears for Momma Durt, unable to raise her chicks, and tears for the chicks getting new foster parents. Amazing work by Kathy and Ben! Thanks for what you do!

  2. Wonderful story. What dedication everyone involved has! Was there only 1 egg successfully hatched on Cedar Bonnet? Everytime I go over the bridge I look to see if I can spot any Peregrine Falcons flying in the air around it. I’m sure Ben Wurst has been checking on it but nothing has been posted about it.

    1. Yes, you might have caught that in the video: only one egg hatched at BOIS. All of our money is on that one baby.

You won’t always catch them flying as they are the fastest animal on the planet. But you will see them perched outside the igloo! Keep your eyes out, but don’t drive off the bridge and into the water while doing so. Please.

  3. Kathy and Jim, I’m so proud of what you did…even if I didn’t understand it at first. A taste of mother nature that will be a part of our lives and the history of our Condo forever! GOD Speed my chicks!

  4. Sincethe nest was on my Daughters balcony and she shared her experience with me by camera I thoroghly enjoyed the story. That Falcon statue so quickly shown in cameo was a gift to me from her many years ago. I returned it to her
when I learned she was entertaining a live Falcon on a regular basis.

    1. It was a beautiful statue and a beautiful story behind it! I made sure to include a shot of it in the film as I was so touched by the incredible coincidence of it.
