LBI Peregrine Falcon
Like a dog with a bone, this young Peregrine Falcon does not want us going anywhere near her precious pink plastic tampon applicator. I can understand. Back in the ’70s, LBI’s beaches were lousy with these visual reminders of just how much sewage we were swimming in. Much to our parent’s horror, we creatively interpreted these mysterious beach treasures as perfect sand-castle toppers and decorations for turrets and what-not. Years later, we’ve cleaned up our act nicely along the Jersey Shore and we can all rejoice that the pink plastic tampon applicator is now a rarity. Don’t worry little PEFA. I’m not a Pirate. I won’t take your Treasure.
