In Loving Memory Of Amy

Amy was the most amazing of Tace-ters brood this season.

She was the last one born, the youngest sister. She was was even still slightly damp when she got her itty-bitty dark blue band that let us know she was 'Lil Amy.

If you watch her in the Baby Bag movie, you'll see her just lying there like a little turd.
If you watch her in the Baby Bag movie, you’ll see her just lying there like a little turd. Here she is also lying like a little turd, but here she is a big girl at one week old, and has already learned to hide in the sand from the many things trying to kill her.
Surprise
Amy was the smallest, the lightest, and the weakest of the four, but she surprised everyone at just a few days old when she showed how full of spirit and adventure she actually was, and soon outpaced her older sister Meg.
But to Tacey, she would always be 'Lil Amy

In Loving Memory of 'Lil Amy.
In Loving Memory of ‘Lil Amy. While we will never know exactly what happened to her, the most likely culprit is an avian scavenger, like a Gull or a Crow, who took advantage of the chaotic life our local animals are forced to lead at Barnegat Light State Park, snatching Amy while some young children chased Tufters & Tacey around the beach (which happens more than you would probably imagine). We will always remember her bold little spirit. Although life is particularly precarious for LBI’s few remaining local animals, it is also precarious for us. We too will ultimately be snuffed out like the Piping Plover, perhaps just as unexpectedly and needlessly. Make each day count, and take nothing for granted!
