The Unnecessary Beach Nesting Battle For Barnegat Light

That Photo Looks Adorbz
Tufters takes a swipe at T2. While that photo of Beth the Piping Plover chick discovering T2 the Oystercatcher for the first time might look totally adorbz, it is actually a little frightening. Sadly, despite the fact that Piping Plover & American Oystercatcher are both local animals and both Beach Nesting birds that are suffering the same exact fate for the same exact reasons, they apparently have yet to discover the value of old fashioned teamwork to help prevent their own extinction.
Instead, Tufters, Tacey, T2, and his mate Linda Hamilton continually battle each other around the Barnegat Light habitat whenever one family gets too close to the other.
Tacey distracts Linda Hamilton from her itty-bitties with a fake Broken Wing. Instead, Tufters, Tacey, T2, and his mate Linda Hamilton continually battle each other around the Barnegat Light habitat whenever one family gets too close to the other one.
Hopefully
Hopefully these two families will one day figure out how to team up against their common, and very real, enemies. Until that time we can simply shake our head, sigh, and keep thinking up ways we can all share the Beach. Silly burdz.
