The Skydance is a male Osprey's key maneuver for landing a nice Lady Osprey. It is an extremely dramatic and show-offy flight, with the Osprey rising super high in the sky, hovering, then swooshing straight down at the nest, only pulling up at the last second. Skydancing always attracts the ladies. They sometimes do it solo to attract a girl, and they also do it in the pretense of the ladies to impress them.

Skydancing always attracts the ladies. They sometimes do it solo to attract a girl, and they also do it for their lady in the early stages of courtship. They can do with a fish or without one. In this case, we have a Skydance with a sweet looking fluke. These photos are from a double feature early today: first, a solo Skydance which quickly attracted the gorgeous bird in the previous photo, then again to show her how cool it is, up close.
They scream the entire time the are doing this. It is really spectacular. I probably should have pushed "record" instead of taking all these pictures, of the coolest Osprey thing ever, only to realize as photos they look pretty much like every other kind of Osprey photo... angry, screaming, clutching the fish.

Huh?
Bonus: Post-Skydance Osprey Is Over The Moon. Actually, Under The Moon.
