Tell Tufters How You Really Feel. His Brain Is Not Too Big.

Oh... iz OK... dat dogz is a service dogz... so I iz not scared of it and it iz not cruel to us aminalz to walk him through our nesting groundz... also, the owner sez he "lives on LBI" and that "Piping Plover die becauz of predators" so that also makez it OK!

I can respect people who have the courage to say "I don't care about animals" or "I care, but my own needs are more important than their welfare and the laws that protect them". But it is embarrassing to listen to the flawed logic of the thin and dishonest arguments we create so we don't have to speak the truth about ourselves.
Tufters and Sanderling discuss why we humanz don’t come right out and say “I value my smallest needs (to do xxx activity illegaly in the tiny stretch of protected area instead of the other 18 miles where we can do it legally) over your largest needs (survival of the species)” That’s what Peregrine and Snowy say, all the time. Tufters brain is too small to comprehend the ridiculous and embarrassing little fallacies and excuses we choose to erect instead.
Sanderling, also terrified of dog, tries to hide with Tufters.

Smartly they team up and create a new species, more terrifying than the dog: The Sanderlover? The Ploverling?
