Gorgeous water returned to us under gentle winds. While it was “interesting” to have some old fashioned murky stuff for a while, I sure did miss the crystal clear, blue-green water of the earlier summer last week. Dead winds and zero swell made this a day to dip and swim, not ride.
But forget about all that because all that is about to change. Some mixed up weather + larger swells are on the way. The swell is rising now and peaks on Saturday AM with 4.5 footers. But how it all plays out remains to be seen. A mix of gusty winds and potential storms tomorrow could be a blessing or a curse to the rising swell. You can be pretty sure the waves will be sloppy: but will they be fun? That remains to be seen. There is a chance of a West on Saturday morning which could undo some of the damage tomorrow’s strong South and set us up for some nice weekend waves. We’ll see just how strong and messy the South wind gets tomorrow and if we get a Thunderstorm to mix things up.
